267 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Defence if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a person (details supplied) in County Wexford has been unable to access his Army medical records; if these medical records will be provided for the person concerned in the near future; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Defence (Mr. M. Smith):

A medico-legal report was requested by the solicitors of the individual concerned some time ago. Owing to other urgent commitments and the retirement of the medical officer dealing with the request, it was not possible to provide the report up to now. However, I have been assured that this request is now being dealt with urgently.
