Vol. 541 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Accommodation.

John McGuinness

Ceist:

487 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has received a submission from the South-Eastern Health Board to re-open a ward at Kilcreene Hospital, Kilkenny, to assist with overcrowding at St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny; the cost of implementing the project; and if he will give a completion date. [21619/01]

A proposal from the South-Eastern Health Board for a 28 bed additional ward in Kilcreene Hospital is being considered by my Department in the context of the overall bed capacity requirements of the South-Eastern Health Board. Details in relation to the cost of the project and a completion date have not been finalised with the Department at this time.
