I propose to take Questions Nos. 745 to 747, inclusive, 749, 751 and 752 together.

A draft combined brief for these and a number of other schemes was submitted to my Department by Roscommon County Council in August 2001 but has not been approved. The Elphin, Frenchpark, and Ballinlough schemes were included as long-term objectives – 2006-2026 – in the list of water and sewerage schemes submitted by Roscommon County Council in response to my Department's request to local authorities to undertake a fresh assessment of the needs for capital works in their areas and to prioritise their proposals on the basis of the assessments. The priority lists were taken into account in the framing of the water services investment programme 2000-2002, announced in July 2000. Given the priority rating afforded to the schemes by the council, the level of competing demand and the funding available, it has not been possible to approve the schemes under the programme. The other schemes to which the Deputy referred were not listed in the council's assessment and, therefore, were not considered for inclusion in the programme.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 748 and 750 together.

A combined brief for these and a number of other schemes was submitted to my Department by Roscommon County Council in November 2000, but has not been approved. The Rooskey scheme was included as a long-term objective – 2006-2026 – in the list of water and sewerage schemes submitted by Roscommon County Council in response to my Department's request to local authorities to undertake a fresh assessment of the needs for capital works in their areas and to prioritise their proposals on the basis of the assessments. The priority lists were taken into account in the framing of the water services investment programme 2000/02, announced in July 2000. Given the priority rating afforded to this scheme by the council, the level of competing demands and the funding available, it has not been possible to approve the scheme was not approved under the programme. The Cortubber scheme was not listed in the council's assessment and, therefore, was not considered for inclusion in the programme.
