782 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs if he has referred an allegation of assault by an officer of his Department made by a person (details supplied) in County Meath to the Garda Síochána for investigation; and if not, the reason therefor. [21284/01]
A number of serious allegations have been made by and on behalf of the person referred to by the Deputy against an employee of the Department. These allegations are still being examined by senior management in the Department. It is understood by the Department that a complaint was made to the Garda Síochána by the person concerned.
