Ceist:

996 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will increase the grant aid to Meath Hill national school, to allow a complete refurbishment of the school to bring it into line with the modern day requirements of teaching, and to allow the teachers and students to continue the excellent work which they do; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Education and Science (Dr. Woods):

My Department has received an application for grant-aid towards the cost of complete refurbishment at the school in question. My Department has written to the school authorities authorising the appointment of a consultant architect to prepare a report on remedial works required at the school.
