Vol. 542 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

258 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a 2000 cattle headage payment has not been received by a person (details supplied) from County Mayo. [25326/01]

As stated in my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 318 of 3 October 2001, a herdowner must submit a valid area aid application for the relevant year in order to be considered for payment of headage grants. No area aid application was received from the person named for the year 2000, and consequently no cattle headage payments can be made for the year in question.

Ceist:

259 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason an area based payment has not been received by a person (details supplied) from County Mayo. [25327/01]

As stated in my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 249 of 9 October 2001 the person named submitted an area aid application which included a parcel of land in respect of which a dual claim was determined. The matter has now been resolved in favour of the person named and an area determined for area aid purposes of 39.72 hectares.

Payment due under the 2001 area based compensatory allowance scheme will issue before the end of October.
