177 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the receipts of income tax for the past 12 months and the previous 12 month period; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25677/01]

I assume the Deputy is referring to the periods 1 October 1999 to 30 September 2000 and 1 October 2000 to 30 September 2001. The income tax receipts for those periods are as follows:

178 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the receipts of corporation tax for the past 12 months and the previous 12 month period; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25678/01]

The corporation tax receipts for the period 1 October 1999 to 30 September 2000 were £3,004,723,000, 3,815,211,208, and for the period 1 October 2000 to 30 September 2001 were £3,083,175,000, 3,914,824,700. Corporation tax is payable six months after the end of a company's accounting period.

The Deputy may also wish to note that the standard rate of corporation tax was 24% for the calendar year 2000 and 20% for the calendar year 2001.

179 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the receipts in respect of stamp duty for the latest 12 month period and for the previous 12 month period; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25679/01]

I am advised by the Revenue Commissioners that stamp duty receipt figures are normally maintained on a calendar year basis. Stamp duty receipts for the year 1999, 2000 and the current year to date are as follows:

180 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the latest receipts in respect of VAT for the past 12 months and for the previous 12 month period; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25680/01]

The receipts in respect of VAT for the period 1 October, 1999 to 30 September 2000 were £5,650,212 million, 7,174,289 million. From 1 October 2000 to 30 September, 2001 VAT receipts were £6,188,757 million, 7,858,100 million.

(i) The amounts shown in respect of the most recent 12 months are estimates and may be subject to some amendment at a later stage.
(ii) All of the VAT element in the figures is estimated because VAT returns are not required to be completed in a manner which identifies yield from particular goods or services.
(iii) The figures cover all petrol, auto diesel, heating oils and all LPG.
(iv) Budget 2001 reduced excise rates for unleaded petrol and auto diesel.

182 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the receipts in respect of vehicle registration tax in the past 12 months; the way in which this figure compares with the previous corresponding period; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25683/01]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the information requested regarding total vehicle registration tax, VRT, receipts is as follows: 1 October, 2000 to 30 September, 2001 – £641m, 814m; 1 October, 1999 to 30 September, 2000 – £795m, 1,009m.
