As the Deputy is aware, the Government has approved the establishment of a national task force on medical manpower to, inter alia, prepare a detailed implementation programme for the phased reduction of the working hours of non-consultant hospital doctors required under the EU Working Time Directive. I intend to establish the task force shortly.
