482 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will approve an application under the urban and village renewal scheme by Kilkenny County Council to carry out works at the square in Castlecomer, County Kilkenny. [25997/01]
Kilkenny County Council have submitted a plan outlining work to be carried in 2001 under the Urban and Village Renewal Programme 2000-2006. Included in this plan were works to be carried out in the Market Square, Castlecomer. Kilkenny County Council has indicated that work will commence shortly on the project.
Kilkenny County Council has also submitted further proposals in relation to The Square, Castlecomer, seeking additional funding as a project which shows innovation in regard to selection and design. This project will be considered in context of such funding in 2002.
