561 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding the provision of a library and other integrated services at Confey, Leixlip, County Kildare; the extent to which agreement has been achieved between the various statutory bodies involved; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Dempsey):

On 2 July 2001, I approved a proposal by Kildare County Council for the acceptance of a tender for the provision of a new library at Leixlip. I am committing grant aid of £2.04 million for the project.
