Ceist:

672 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will provide a breakdown of the figure by Garda division in respect of the 42 convictions secured by the Garda for the sale of alcohol to minors under the Intoxicating Liquor Act, 2000. [26181/01]

As I informed the House in my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 188 on 18 October 2001, the number of convictions, as of 24 April 2001, in respect of the serving of drink to teenagers under 18 years of age obtained under the Intoxicating Liquor Act, 1988, as amended by the Intoxicating Liquor Act, 2000, was 42. I am informed by the Garda authorities that this figure has since increased to 49. A breakdown of the 49 convictions by Division is set out in the following table:
