676 Mr. P. Carey asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if the tender process for the closed circuit television scheme for Finglas, Dublin 11, has been completed; when the scheme will be installed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26185/01]
Tenders for the installation of town centre CCTV systems in Bray, Dundalk, Dún Laoghaire, Finglas, Galway and Limerick were sought earlier on this year. The latest date for receipt of the tenders was 29 June 2001. Tenders received are currently being evaluated by the telecommunications section of the Garda Síochána. When this process is complete, it is intended that contracts will be placed and that the six systems referred to above – including Finglas – will be operational by the end of 2002.
