684 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his attention has been drawn to the fact that there is no resident Garda in the town of Borris-in-Ossory, County Laois; if he will contact the appropriate agency to ensure that renovations can take place at the Garda residence at the earliest opportunity; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am informed by the Garda authorities, which are responsible for the allocation of personnel, that the member now stationed in Borris-in-Ossory Garda station does not reside in the official accommodation. Should a member be assigned to live in the official quarters the Office of Public Works will be asked to inspect the accommodation and to provide an estimate of the works required. Such works will be undertaken subject to the availability of finance.
