Vol. 543 No. 2

Written Answers. - Advertising Campaigns.

Paul Bradford

Ceist:

159 Mr. Bradford asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the public relations or advertising campaigns which have been funded or part funded by her Department since June 1997, which involve the personal appearance of the Minister or Ministers of State on television, radio or in newspapers; the cost of any such campaigns; if any such campaigns are planned for the future; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [26800/01]

I assume the Deputy is not referring to public relations or advertising campaigns undertaken by agencies under the aegis of my Department as expenditure for these are a day to day matter for the agencies themselves. Since becoming Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment in 1997 my Department has neither wholly nor partially funded public relations or advertising campaigns which have involved either me or Ministers of State making personal appearances on television, radio or in newspapers. No plans for any such campaigns in the future have been brought to my attention.
