223 Mr. Fleming asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the progress which has been achieved to date in the implementation of the producer declaration and check list aspects of the national beef assurance scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27617/01]

The producer declaration and the protocol for the inspection of farms under the national beef assurance scheme are currently under discussion with the relevant parties. The discussions are at an advanced stage and are expected to conclude shortly.
