The Department of Health and Children has provided funding for a pilot medication error reporting system at the Adelaide and Meath Hospital at Tallaght. The hospital's experience with this project will be the subject of a presentation at a major conference on the prevention of medication errors to be held at the hospital later this month. My Department will evaluate the pilot project in order to assess the potential for introducing similar systems in other hospitals.
