416 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the specific islands on Lough Ree which are in State ownership; her plans to purchase the remaining islands on Lough Ree; her plans to refurbish buildings on these islands; and if she will make a statement on the matter. My Department does not own any of the islands on Lough Ree and has no plans to acquire any of the islands. There are, however, a number of national monuments in State care on Inchbofin and Inchcleraun islands and essential maintenance works are undertaken to these monuments as required.
