102 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if there are arrangements in place to ensure the protection of the Government and members of Dáil Éireann in the event of a national emergency; and if no such arrangements are in place, when he anticipates they will be. I am advised by the Garda authorities that the current heightened security awareness applies to the Government and members of the Oireachtas and that relevant security measures have recently been re-evaluated in that context. The Deputy will appreciate, however, that it would be counterproductive to comment publicly on the specifics of the security arrangements in place.
