163 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the position in relation to a company (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [27691/01]

On 1 November 2001 it was announced that Berkshire Hathaway had concluded an agreement to acquire Fruit of the Loom's apparel business worldwide. It is anticipated that this deal will be finalised in the first quarter of 2002.

IDA Ireland and Fruit of the Loom have been involved in ongoing discussions throughout the year and IDA Ireland is meeting with Fruit of the Loom in Donegal to discuss the impact of the pending sale to Berkshire Hathaway on the Donegal operation.

164 Mr. Finucane asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the factory premises available for letting in Newcastle West, County Limerick; the square footage of those premises [27715/01]

Shannon Development is the agency under the aegis of my Department with responsibility for the development of industry, including the provision of factory space, in Newcastle West. The total factory space available for letting by Shannon Development in Newcastle West is as follows:

238 sq. ft.

Enterprise Units:

717 sq. ft.

345 sq. ft.

(both will be available by circa end of November 2001)
