Vol. 544 No. 4

Written Answers. - Flood Relief.

Billy Timmins

Ceist:

191 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Finance if he will be allocating funding to Arklow Urban District Council for the alleviation of flooding; when he expects the urban district council to furnish his Department with a consultants report on the matter; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29266/01]

The Commissioners of Public Works wrote to the town clerk of Arklow Urban District Council in August 2001 confirming that they have allocated an amount of £107,578 to the UDC to pay for an updated report on flooding in Arklow. The report is expected to be completed and available in June 2002. The question of further funding for flood alleviation in Arklow must await consideration of the report's findings.
