Ceist:

233 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the amount of capital expenditure which was spent by his Department since July 1997 to 1 November 2001; the percentage of this which was spent in County Wicklow; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29283/01]

The information requested by the Deputy is set out as follows:

Justice Vote
The total capital expenditure for the period in question from the Justice Vote was £18.666 million, 23.7 million. Of this amount, 1.23%, £229,331, 291,063, was spent in County Wicklow. This expenditure was in relation to childcare funding.
Courts Vote
The total amount of capital expenditure which was spent by my Department in the Courts Service from July 1997 to 1 November 2001 was £60.648 million, 77 million. Of this 1.6%, £979,687, 1.24 million, was spent in County Wicklow.
Prisons Vote
The total capital expenditure from the Prisons Vote for the period in question is £129.780 million, 164.786 million. Of this 1.93%, £2.507 million, 3.183 million, was spent in County Wicklow.
Garda Vote
The total capital expenditure from the Garda Vote for the period in question was £67.887 million, 86.198 million. Information in relation to capital expenditure in the Garda Vote is not maintained on a county basis.
