Vol. 544 No. 4

Written Answers. - Redundancy Payments.

Jack Wall

Ceist:

113 Mr. Wall asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the position regarding applications by persons (details supplied) for their entitlements (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [29096/01]

The majority of the employees of the company mentioned have been paid their claims for out standing wages, which, in most cases, included deductions payable for union dues, saving schemes, and arrears of holiday pay. In addition, payment in respect of claims for minimum notice compensation awards has also issued from my Department to the receiver who is arranging to pay the relevant amounts to employees as soon as possible.

During the course of inquiries to the receiver it was learned that a payable order which issued to him on 31 October 2001 was never received. This covered amounts due to six employees. Arrangements have been made to have this payable order cancelled and a replacement issued as soon as possible.

Claims in respect of two employees are awaiting receipt of further information from the receiver's office. One of these refers to a personal pension scheme claim.
