121 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the number of farmers who owe rent or repayments to the Land Commission; the numbers who have been issued with letters in respect of same by Stubbs Gazette; and the total outstanding repayments in respect of which the letters issued. Of the 6,500 farmers who have annuity and rent commitments amounting to almost £1.7 million annually for land that was given to them by the former Land Commission, 216 were referred to Dun & Bradstreet in November last with a view to collection of longstanding arrears of just over £1 million.
