157 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if land which was leased by a person (details supplied) in County Cork in relation to the farm retirement scheme can be substituted by land which has been purchased. [31907/01]
Subject to the prior written approval of my Department, and the submission of relevant legal documents, the substitution of the enlargement land is possible provided the land purchased is equal to or greater than the utilisable agricultural area of the enlargement land that the transferee brought into the scheme. The person named should contact my Department immediately as the lease of the enlargement land is due to expire on 31 December 2001.
