Vol. 546 No. 3

Written Answers. - Floor Area Certificate.

Denis Naughten

Ceist:

259 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reason for the delay in relation to an application by a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon for floor area certificates; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31567/01]

The issue of a floor area certificate is contingent on a house having a floor area of not less than 38 square metres and not more than 125 square metres Following two different inspections of the house concerned, the applicant was advised that, having regard to the developed state of the attic space, the dwelling was over the floor area limit allowed. A further inspection is to be arranged on receipt of notification, which is still awaited, that the dwelling has been altered to provide for undeveloped storage space only in the attic.
