426 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education and Science the number of additional training support teacher posts required to ensure provision for all primary schools at a level whereby no teacher would be obliged to cover more than three primary schools. [31829/01]
I understand the Deputy is referring to learning support teacher posts. While regard is had to the number of schools served by individual learning support teachers, the key factor in the allocation of such posts is the number of pupils requiring the service. Details of the number of additional posts which would be required to address the situation raised by the Deputy are not readily available in my Department. However, I will arrange to have this information compiled and forwarded to the Deputy.
