297 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the position regarding an appeal by a person (details supplied) in County Kerry against the decision disallowing beef premium payments; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1631/02]

The herdowner lodged an appeal concerning his 2000 special beef premium application. The headage and premia appeals unit examined the appeal and notified the herdowner on 3 January 2002 that his appeal was unsuccessful.
