298 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when applications under the scheme for the distribution of the balance of the Agenda 2000 milk quota will be processed; and when applicants will be notified of the outcome. [1647/02]
My Department extended the closing date for receipt of applications under this scheme to 28 February 2002 in order to allow applicants sufficient time to assemble the necessary documentation. The applications will be processed as soon as possible after the closing date. It is not possible at this stage to say how long the processing will take since this will depend to a considerable extent on the number of applications received.
The additional quota allocated will be available with effect from the 2002-2003 milk quota year for as long as the recipient stays in milk production.
