Ceist:303 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when replacement cattle cards will be issued to a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [1653/02]
Written Answers. - Cattle Identification Scheme.
Applications for replacement cards or passports are checked against the CMMS system to ensure that the animals in question are in the applicant's herd at the time of application for a replacement. The above-mentioned herdowner applied for replacement cards for the two animals in question in October 2001. However, there was no record on the cattle movement monitoring system of the animals being moved into his herd. To this end the DVO advised the herdowner to make the appropriate movement notification and forwarded notification forms for completion by both parties involved in the transaction. The matter was resolved and the replacement cards issued for the two animals on 20 December 2001.
