Vol. 547 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Dan Neville

Ceist:

373 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when an extensification premium payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick. [2734/02]

On 20 May 2001, extensification premium totalling 2,640.04, £2,079.20, was paid in respect of 40 special beef premium animals while on 29 June 2001, an additional sum of 69.07, £54.40, due in euro compensation was paid. Payment of 2001 extensification premium is not scheduled to commence until June 2002.

Paul Connaughton

Ceist:

374 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a ewe premium payment has not been made to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2748/02]

The person named was notified by the Department on 10 July 2001 that as no payment had been received in respect of arrears of land purchase since 26 July 2000, the arrears would be deducted from any headage-premium scheme payments due in the future. Consequently, the amount due under the second advance of the 2001 ewe premium was offset against his land annuity arrears on 19 October 2001.

A cheque will issue in this case on Thursday, 31 January 2002.
