483 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children the position regarding an application by a person (details supplied) in County Carlow for a hernia operation in St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1168/02]

Responsibility for the provision of services at St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny, rests with the South-Eastern Health Board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly.
