Vol. 547 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Jimmy Deenihan

Ceist:

568 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Kerry will be called to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Cork for surgery; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1852/02]

The provision of services in this instance is the responsibility of the South Infirmary of Victoria Hospital. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer at the hospital to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly.

Rory O'Hanlon

Ceist:

569 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Health and Children when it is intended to provide extra capacity for dialysis at Cavan Hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1855/02]

Responsibility for the provision of hospital services at Cavan General Hospital is a matter for the North-Eastern Health Board and any proposal to provide extra capacity for dialysis is a matter for the Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this matter and to reply to the Deputy directly.
