Vol. 547 No. 1

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Dinny McGinley

Ceist:

788 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding the proposed sewerage scheme for Donegal town, County Donegal. [2354/02]

Donegal County Council's tender recommendation in respect of the Donegal town centre sewer contract is under examination in my Department and will be dealt with as quickly as possible. The treatment works element of the scheme is being advanced as a grouped design-build-operate project that also includes the Rossnowlagh and Ballyshannon sewerage schemes. Contract documents for this project have been submitted to my Department by the council and are being examined. Certain planning aspects of the Ballyshannon and Rossnowlagh schemes will need to be resolved by the council before tenders can be invited for the grouped project.
