Vol. 547 No. 1

Written Answers. - Roads Projects.

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

801 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position to date in 2002 in regard to the provision of road and bridge realignment at Bond Bridge, Maynooth, County Kildare; the extent of objections received to date; if these objections have been resolved; if it is intended to proceed with the project in the foreseeable future; the increased cost of the proposal arising from various delays caused since the projected was first muted; the initial and current cost; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2672/02]

Kildare County Council has indicated that planning issues regarding the conservation of the existing Bond Bridge have now been resolved and I understand that the council intends to proceed with the construction of the scheme this year. As this project will be funded from the Council's own resources, details of the works proposed for this project and their cost may appropriately be sought from Kildare County Council.
