Vol. 547 No. 1

Written Answers. - Údarás na Gaeltachta.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

886 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the grants which were approved at the December 2001 meeting of Údarás na Gaeltachta; the applicants approved; and the amounts approved. [2079/02]

I am not in a position to make an announcement on the decisions made at the December meeting of Údarás na Gaeltachta. As the Deputy may be aware, approval of projects by the board of Údarás is often only one in a series of steps that make up the negotiating process. Following board approval, a formal offer is made to the various project promoters and this is either accepted or rejected by them. It would be premature to issue a full list of decisions made at the December meeting, or indeed any other meeting of Údarás na Gaeltachta until the negotiation process with project promoters has been brought to finality.
