Written Answers. - Registration of Title

Michael Ring

Ceist:

981 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will instruct the Land Registry to expedite a request for file plans for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [2021/02]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this application refers to a transfer of part which was lodged on 6 January 1998.

I understand that certain matters in relation to the application require clarification and correspondence in this regard will issue to the applicant's solicitors shortly. Once a satisfactory reply has been received the processing of the application can proceed.

I am further informed that the file plans requested will be sent to the applicant's solicitor immediately.

Ceist:

982 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if a dealing can be expedited for a person (details supplied) in County Galway. [2022/02]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this dealing refers to an application under section 49, that is, acquisition of title by virtue of long possession, of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, which was lodged on 5 July 1999. I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49 which require detailed examination of claims for registration as owners can take some time to process. Accordingly it is not possible to estimate a completion date at this stage.

I am further informed that a reply was received on 9 January 2002 to the queries issued to the lodging solicitors on 12 December 2001 and that the matter is receiving further attention.

Ceist:

983 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when registration will be completed for persons (details supplied) in County Mayo. [2023/02]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the dealing number quoted by the Deputy does not refer to the person mentioned. I would direct the Deputy to Parliamentary Question No. 2071/02 in this regard.
