Ceist:1108 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason for the delay which arose in paying supervisors who reviewed examination scripts; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1189/02]

Payment for this work is normally made in mid to late October. Payments to those who worked on the 2001 certificate examinations were issued later than normal due, in the main, to the postponement of the oral examinations earlier in the year. It is my Department's policy to endeavour to issue payments as quickly as possible to all who work on the examinations.
