Vol. 547 No. 1

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Liam Aylward

Ceist:

1171 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason for the delay in having a school transport grant payment made to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny. [1525/02]

My Department arranged a transport service for the pupil in question in September 1999. However, it subsequently emerged that the family chose to transport the pupil to school privately as they considered the service unsuitable.

Arising from further consideration of this case, I am pleased to inform the Deputy that a transport grant has now been approved in respect of the pupil in question.

Denis Naughten

Ceist:

1172 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Education and Science if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 270 of 14 November 2001, the report has been completed; the decision taken; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1526/02]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that my Department has facilitated the pupil concerned with suitable transport.
