1225 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding the proposed refurbishment and extension of Calasanctius College school building project, Oranmore, County Galway; if work will start on the project in 2002; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1752/02]
My Department recently approved the stage 4, detailed design, submission for the proposed new school at Calasanctius College. The board of management was then authorised to proceed to stage 5, bill of quantities. My Department also instructed the school's design team to undertake the selection of contractors in accordance with public procurement.
At this stage it will not be possible to say when the project will go on site. On receipt of the stage 5 submission the matter will receive further consideration.
