Vol. 547 No. 1

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

John V. Farrelly

Ceist:

1251 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress which has been made to date by his Department to purchase a new site for a school (details supplied) in County Meath; if the estate agents appointed by his Department have reported back to him; if so, the action which has been taken on their recommendations; when building will commence on this new school; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1961/02]

My Department has identified a possible suitable site for the school to which the Deputy refers and negotiations regarding purchase of same will be entered into shortly.

At this stage it is not possible to say when this new school will commence construction as decisions relating to the rate of progress to construction of individual projects, including this school, will be taken as in previous years in the light of the allocation for post-primary school buildings.
