Vol. 547 No. 1

Written Answers. - Harbours and Piers.

Pádraic McCormack

Ceist:

137 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if plans for the completion of the development of Ros a' Mhíl Pier, County Galway are proceeding; if money unspent on this project was returned in 1991; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1494/02]

Plans for the completion of major infrastructural development at Ros a Mhíl are proceeding to schedule. The up-to-date position is that the design report has been completed and the consulting engineers are finalising the necessary documents and drawings for all relevant statutory permissions necessary for the dredging and construction phase of development.

Some 1.525 million was allocated towards capital works in Ros a Mhíl in 2001. Subject to final confirmation of outturns for 2001, actual expenditure amounted to 1.335 million, of which 841, 416 was in respect of the new development works.
