Vol. 547 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Brendan Kenneally

Ceist:

280 Mr. Kenneally asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when the various local authorities will be advised of the amount of funding available to them under the scheme of grants for conservation work on pro tected structures; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3664/02]

My Department has requested information from each local authority in relation to the status of their record of protected structures at the end of 2001. Following receipt and assessment of this information, I expect to be able to announce the allocations for the 2002 grants for the conservation of protected structures in the near future.

Gerry Reynolds

Ceist:

281 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when a decision will be made on behalf of a group (details supplied) in County Leitrim regarding an application to his Department's conservation fund. [3665/02]

An application for a conservation grant under the urban and village measure of the Border, midland and western regional operational programme in relation to St. George's Church, Carrick on Shannon has been received by my Department. The closing date for receipt of applications this year was 11 January 2002. A conservation advisory panel will now assess all applications received. Notice of allocations of grant assistance to successful applicants will be given at the earliest possible date following this assessment.
