Vol. 547 No. 3

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Dan Neville

Ceist:

306 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when properties (details supplied) will have title registered with the Land Registry Office. [3138/02]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the dealings quoted by the Deputy refer to two applications under section 49, that is, acquisition of title by virtue of long possession of the Registration of Title Act, 1964 which were lodged on 8 June, 2000 and 10 January, 2001 and a transfer of part which was lodged on 14 June, 2000.

I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49, which require detailed examination of claims for registration as owners can take some time to process. Accordingly it is not possible to estimate a completion date at this stage. I am further informed that queries issued on the 15 January, 2002 to the lodging solicitor in relation to the transfer of part and that the matter will be dealt with as soon as possible on receipt of a satisfactory response to the queries raised.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

307 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will instruct the Land Registry Office to expedite a registration for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo; and when the deed of transfer arising from the registration will be completed. [3170/02]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this application refers to a Land Commission vesting order and a transmission on death. I am further informed that queries have issued to the lodging solicitor in relation to dealing number D2001SM998318U and the application cannot progress until these queries have been satisfactorily resolved. However, I am informed that the deed of transfer referred to in the parliamentary question has not been lodged with the Land Registry.
