Vol. 547 No. 3

Written Answers. - Visa Applications.

Gay Mitchell

Ceist:

333 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will issue a permit for a two week visit by a person (details supplied). [3534/02]

The application in question was refused in November 2001 because it had not been established, on the basis of the documentation supplied to my Department, that the applicant would observe the conditions of a visit visa. In particular, it was felt that the applicant had not displayed sufficient evidence of his obligations to return home following his proposed visit. It is open to the applicant to appeal against the refusal of a visa by writing to the visa appeals officer in my Department together with additional supporting documentation.
