Vol. 547 No. 3

Written Answers. - Worker Participation Act.

Ceist:

90 Dr. Upton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the progress which had been made regarding the review of the Worker Participation (State Enterprises) Act promised in the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3344/02]

The Programme for Prosperity and Fairness included a provision for the operation of the Worker Participation (State Enterprises) Acts, 1977 and 1988, to be reviewed in the first year of the programme.

The social partners agreed that Mr. Declan Morrin, director of the advisory service of the Labour Relations Commission, should carry out this review. I understand that written submissions have now been received from all relevant parties. It is expected that the review will be finalised in the near future.
