Vol. 547 No. 3

Written Answers. - Industrial Relations.

Eamon Gilmore

Ceist:

94 Mr. Gilmore asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment her views on the call made in the Labour Relation Commission's new Strategy Framework, 2002-2004, for a forum to co-ordinate the activities of agencies now dealing with industrial relations issues; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3332/02]

I am pleased that the Labour Relations Commission in its recently published strategy framework is seeking to work together with the various agencies concerned with different aspects of industrial relations in Ireland. During the consultation process, which preceded the publication of the strategy, there were some suggestions that there should be a high level national forum where the commission and other interested parties could discuss current and emerging issues. The commission, having examined the matter, is now proposing to host an annual informal meeting of the various agencies to discuss matters of mutual concern.
