Vol. 548 No. 1

Written Answers. - Disabled Drivers.

John McGuinness

Ceist:

128 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the progress being made by the interdepartmental review group under the chairmanship of his Department examining the disabled drivers' and passengers' (tax concession) scheme, 1994; the length of time this group has been established; and when recommendations will be put forward by the group. [4019/02]

Brian O'Shea

Ceist:

130 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when he expects to receive the final report and recommendations of the interdepartmental review group on the disabled drivers' and disabled passengers' (tax concessions) scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4021/02]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 128 and 130 together.

The interdepartmental review group on the disabled drivers' and disabled passengers' (tax concessions) scheme was established in April 1998.

Work on the report of the group is at an advanced stage. The report will be presented to the Minister for Finance once completed. The decision on when the report will be published will rest with that Minister.
