I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to discuss the following urgent and important matter: the threat posed to students in secondary schools faced with school closure because of the failure to resolve the issue of payment for supervision and substitution, the recent statement by the joint managerial body that schools would close and that the Minister's contingency plan would not work, the particular problems posed in joint union schools and the reluctance of the Government to take any initiative to resolve this dispute before the deadline of 4 March.
