148 Mr. P. Carey asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will arrange with the health board to provide a contract bed for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 9 after the person's VHI cover expires at the end of May 2002; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5072/02]

As the provision of health services in the Dublin area is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority, my Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the case and respond to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
