226 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education and Science his views on whether disciplinary hearings in respect of staff members should be heard by political representatives who are members of the board of the VEC in the context of the day to day operation of the vocational education sector; and if he will make a statement on the matter. It is entirely a matter for the vocational education committee concerned, as employer, to decide who should conduct disciplinary hearings involving members of staff. Due process must be followed in any such disciplinary hearings.
